Terms of Service

Last updated: October 2026

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of the Good Maid Cleaning website and your booking of cleaning services with Good Maid Cleaning Ltd. ("Good Maid Cleaning," "we," "us," or "our"), a British Columbia company (incorporation no. BC1610180). By booking a cleaning with us, you agree to these Terms — if you don't agree, please don't use our services. These Terms apply to all customers, residential and commercial.

1. Our Services

Good Maid Cleaning connects you with vetted, background-checked cleaning professionals across the Metro Vancouver and Fraser Valley areas listed on our Areas We Serve page. We offer Standard, Deep, Move-In/Move-Out, and Recurring residential cleaning, along with Airbnb turnover, Senior Home, Commercial, Real Estate, and Post-Construction cleaning. Availability, pricing, and the exact scope of a visit may vary by location and by the details you provide when booking, and are provided for general reference — the price and scope confirmed at booking control.

Your cleaner brings professional cleaning products and equipment. If you'd like us to use your own products (for example, scent-free or eco-friendly ones), leave them out and add a note when you book. Unless we agree otherwise in writing, a visit doesn't include: biohazards (such as bodily fluids, sharps, or animal waste beyond normal pet hair), mould or pest remediation, work at heights beyond a standard step stool, moving heavy furniture or appliances, exterior windows, or any task a cleaner reasonably believes is unsafe.

2. Booking & Payment

All prices shown at booking are in Canadian dollars and calculated instantly from the details you provide (home size, bedrooms, bathrooms, service type, and add-ons). When you confirm a booking, you authorize us to charge the payment method you give us. We charge it at the time of booking; there are no in-home quotes or separate bills afterward, apart from add-on charges you approve. Bookings made by phone may instead be paid by Interac e-Transfer to info@goodmaidcleaning.com before the scheduled visit.

You're responsible for making sure the address, entry instructions, and other details you give us are accurate. Quoted prices are estimates based on what you tell us at booking. If your cleaner arrives and the property needs significantly more work than expected — for example, far more clutter, soiling, or square footage than described — we may charge an adjusted price to reflect the actual scope of work, and we'll try to let you know before, during, or after the visit wherever we can. Prices, service availability, and promotions shown on our website may change at any time; the price confirmed to you at the time of booking is what applies to that booking.

3. Cancellations & Rescheduling

If you cancel at least 24 hours before your scheduled appointment, you'll get a full refund. You can also reschedule free of charge with at least 24 hours' notice. Use the manage-booking link in your confirmation email, or contact us.

Cancelling within 24 hours of your appointment carries a $50 late-cancellation fee. If our cleaner arrives at the scheduled time and can't get into your home, a lockout fee applies of $100 or the price of your booking, whichever is less. In either case, the fee is kept from your payment and the rest is refunded. These fees are a reasonable estimate of what a late cancellation or lockout costs us, not a penalty. If you cancel or reschedule repeatedly, or give less than 24 hours' notice more than once, we may require prepayment for future bookings or decline to offer further bookings.

4. Refund Policy

If any part of your clean isn't right, tell us within 24 hours of your visit using the contact details at the end of these Terms, with photos of the areas involved. We ask that you give us a fair opportunity to address it before pursuing any other remedy. Concerns raised after the 24-hour window may not be eligible for any remedy.

Touch-ups. If something included in the service you booked was missed, and you report it within 24 hours with photos, we'll send a cleaner back to fix those specific areas at no charge once we've reviewed and approved your request. A touch-up covers only the missed areas, not a full second clean, and doesn't cover tasks or areas outside your booked service. We offer one touch-up per booking, scheduled with you at a time our team is available. We may decline requests that appear to be made in bad faith.

If we don't show up. If no cleaner arrives for your booking and we can't send one, you'll get a full refund for that visit.

Except as we agree to in a specific case, payments are final. Reporting a concern, or receiving a touch-up visit, does not automatically entitle you to a refund, credit, or partial refund — Good Maid Cleaning does not guarantee monetary compensation of any kind for a completed cleaning, whether the concern is about the quality or scope of work, a change of mind, or any other dispute. Any refund, credit, or partial refund we do provide is offered solely at Good Maid Cleaning's discretion, on a case-by-case basis, and does not obligate us to do the same in any other case.

Starting a chargeback or card dispute over a completed clean, without first giving us the chance to address your concern as described above, breaches these Terms. We reserve the right to contest any chargeback or dispute and to recover the disputed amount, together with any fees, costs, or expenses (including reasonable legal fees) we incur as a result.

5. Your Responsibilities

  • Provide safe, reasonable access to your home at the scheduled time.
  • If you give us a key or a lockbox, door, or alarm code, we'll share it only with the cleaner assigned to your visit and use it only for that visit. You're welcome to change your codes at any time — just let us know before your next visit.
  • Keep any pet that may be anxious or aggressive secured during the visit. Our cleaners won't feed, walk, or let pets outside unless you've arranged it with us in advance.
  • Let us know in advance about pets, alarm systems, parking restrictions, or anything else our cleaner should be aware of.
  • Secure or point out any fragile, high-value, or irreplaceable items you'd like handled with special care, or set aside.
  • Make sure the space and any requests you make are safe and lawful for our cleaners to carry out.
  • Give us accurate information about the property and its condition — you're responsible for any additional cost, delay, or limitation on our ability to help that results from information that turns out to be inaccurate or incomplete.
  • Don't contact or attempt to hire a Good Maid Cleaning cleaner directly, outside of our platform — doing so may result in suspension of your account and forfeiture of the remedy in Section 4.

Not meeting these responsibilities may affect our ability to complete your cleaning as scheduled, and may limit what we're able to take responsibility for under Section 7 below.

6. Right to Refuse or Reschedule Service

We may decline to start, pause, or end a visit — or decline a future booking — if we reasonably believe the property is unsafe, conditions are materially different from what was booked, or a customer or anyone at the property is abusive, threatening, or unsafe toward our staff. We may also need to reschedule a visit because of weather, illness, or other circumstances outside our reasonable control; when that happens, you can choose a new time or get a full refund for that visit.

7. Insurance & Liability for Damage

Good Maid Cleaning carries liability insurance for our cleaning operations. If you believe something was damaged during a visit, tell us in writing (email is fine) within 24 hours of that visit, with photos or other supporting detail where you have them, so we can look into it — claims raised after that window, or that we're not reasonably able to investigate, may not be eligible for any repair, replacement, or refund. This coverage is for damage directly caused by our cleaner's negligence; it doesn't cover pre-existing damage, normal wear and tear, or the condition of items or surfaces that were already worn, damaged, or in poor repair before the visit. We're not responsible for cash, jewelry, art, collectibles, or other high-value or irreplaceable items that weren't identified to us in advance as described in Section 5, or for items in areas that weren't part of the booked cleaning.

8. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent the law allows, Good Maid Cleaning's total liability to you for any claim arising out of or relating to these Terms or our services — however framed, including in contract or negligence — is limited to the amount you paid for the visit(s) giving rise to the claim. We're not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including lost time, lost income, or inconvenience, even if we've been told they're possible. Our website and booking system are provided "as is"; we work to keep pricing, availability, and other information accurate and the site running smoothly, but we don't guarantee it will be error-free, uninterrupted, or available at all times.

9. Force Majeure

We're not liable for any failure or delay in providing our services caused by events reasonably beyond our control — including severe weather, natural disasters, public health emergencies, labour disruptions, government action, or utility or systems outages. If an event like this affects your booking, we'll work with you to reschedule, or refund that visit in full if you'd rather not.

10. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold Good Maid Cleaning harmless from any claim, loss, or expense (including reasonable legal fees) arising from information you gave us that was inaccurate or incomplete, from unsafe or undisclosed conditions at the property, or from your (or another household member's or guest's) violation of these Terms.

11. Our Cleaners

Every cleaner is background-checked, identity-verified, and trained before working with Good Maid Cleaning. Our cleaners are independent contractors, not employees of Good Maid Cleaning — they contract with us to provide cleaning services, and each one manages their own schedule and the specific way they carry out a job within the quality standards we set. While we hold every cleaner to rigorous standards, Good Maid Cleaning is not liable for a cleaner's independent actions beyond the scope of the booked service. Your booking is an agreement with Good Maid Cleaning, not with an individual cleaner, so if anything about a visit doesn't meet your expectations, bring it to us directly and we'll take care of it.

12. Prohibited Uses

Please don't use our site or service to:

  • Submit false or fraudulent bookings, information, or damage or service-quality claims.
  • Harass, threaten or abuse our cleaners or team members.
  • Attempt to circumvent our pricing, payment, cancellation, or referral systems.
  • Resell or redistribute our services without our prior written consent.
  • Ask a cleaner to do anything unsafe, illegal, or outside the scope of a residential cleaning visit.

We may refuse service to, or end our relationship with, any customer who violates these Terms, without a refund for visits already completed.

13. Governing Law & Disputes

British Columbia law, along with the federal laws of Canada that apply in BC, governs these Terms. If something goes wrong, please reach out to us first — most problems can be sorted out with a quick conversation. If we can't settle a dispute together, the courts of British Columbia will have exclusive jurisdiction over it.

14. Severability

If any part of these Terms is found unenforceable, the rest of these Terms remain in full effect.

15. No Waiver; Entire Agreement

Our failure to enforce any part of these Terms at any time isn't a waiver of our right to enforce it later. These Terms, together with any policies referenced here, make up the entire agreement between you and Good Maid Cleaning about our services, and replace any earlier agreements or understandings on the subject. You may not assign your rights under these Terms without our written consent; we may assign these Terms in connection with a sale, merger, or reorganization of our business.

16. Changes to These Terms

We may revise these Terms from time to time. When a change is material, we'll email you and update the date at the top of this page. Changes apply to bookings made after the change takes effect; continuing to use our services after that means you accept the revised Terms.
